Las Vegas, Nevada - March 22, 2004 – Kummer Kaempfer Bonner & Renshaw, one of Nevada’s largest law firms, announced today that State Senator Mark E. Amodei will join the firm effective April 1, 2004 to open the firm’s first Western Nevada office. The firm will be locating in the South Meadows area of Reno, Nevada in April.
“After years of growth and excellence in Southern Nevada, we are exceptionally honored that Senator Amodei chose to join our organization to help lead this most important step in becoming a statewide firm” said Michael J. Bonner, Managing Partner of the firm. “We know that the basic elements of our success – a focus on the client instead of the lawyer and a commitment to results – are values with which businesses throughout Nevada can identify and share.”
Kummer Kaempfer Bonner & Renshaw is celebrating its tenth year in business as an independent entity [the firm was formed as a result of its split from the Reno office of the former Vargas & Bartlett firm in 1994]. The firm has had a continuous presence in Southern Nevada since the opening of its office in 1972.
“I appreciate the rare opportunity that the members of Kummer Kaempfer Bonner & Renshaw have given me,” said Senator Amodei. “Being allowed to join a firm that is among Nevada’s best, and being asked to assist in bringing their unique capabilities and strengths to serve our growing region, are challenges that I am looking forward to meeting.”
The office will concentrate on serving the business community and its legal needs, including business formations, corporate transactions, Federal and State securities matters, commercial litigation, land use, real estate, and government affairs.
Senator Mark E. Amodei is a native of Carson City and a graduate of the University of Nevada. After attending law school, he served in the U.S. Army’s JAG Corps and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. He has been practicing law for over 20 years as well as serving in the Nevada State Assembly (1997). Presently Mark represents the Capital Senate District in the Nevada State Senate where he serves as the President Pro Tempore and as the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee. His interim Senate assignments include committees dealing with the Tahoe regional Planning Agency, Public Lands, Court Funding, and Educational Technology.
Kummer Kaempfer Bonner & Renshaw is a prominent force in the dynamic and fast-growing Las Vegas Metropolitan and Southern Nevada region and provides legal services in all aspects of the burgeoning Nevada economy. It serves a diverse group of local, regional, national and international clients, including business organizations, institutions, private individuals and non-profit organizations.
The firm’s attorneys include a former United States Congressman [James Bilbray] and a former Deputy Secretary of State, Nevada Securities Division [Sherwood Cook]. The firm’s attorneys are recognized amongst the best corporate and transactional lawyers in Nevada, including recognition as the Law Firm Deal Maker of the Year by INBusiness Magazine.
Attorneys in the firm’s Land Use, Zoning, and Government Affairs department are the dominant practitioners representing business clients before all southern Nevada local governmental planning commissions, city councils and county commissions. The firm is recognized as one of the primary Nevada law firms counseling e-commerce and technology start-up companies that have been attracted by Nevada’s favorable business climate on financing and organization advice. Corporate, commercial, construction, and employment litigation clients have relied upon our expert litigators for representation when disputes have arisen.
